BCREI Business
Membership Agreement
The cost of an annual BCREI Business Membership is $150.
Business Members agree to conduct themselves in an
ethical manner and follow the current BCREI Business Members Agreement, as
updated from time to time. Violation of this, or updated agreements, is
grounds for termination.
A Business Member may have up to two officers and/or
employees of the business attend regular meetings. The names of these people
are provided on the application so that BCREI will have badges ready for them
at the meeting.
Business Members may provide their marketing flyers to
members attending BCREI meetings. Flyers are to be single sheets (single or
double-sided, any color) of paper. Business Members may place them on the
seats in the room, if placed before people have begun to be seated for the
meeting. Otherwise, leave them at the greeter’s table for people to pick up
as people enter for the meeting. Electronic versions of your flyers should
also be provided for the BCREI website for members who may not have attended
the meeting or have lost their original (.pdf preferred). Flyers not taken at
the end of the meeting will be recycled or discarded.
Business Members may have an advertisement on the
website.
Business Member may participate in a once-a-month email
to members via the discuss email list which will remind members of
business members’ services and products.
Business Members agree that they will not email
unsolicited emails to discuss regarding their products or services.
Business Members may respond to questions such as “Do you know anybody who….?”
with an email to the group such as “We have …”
Business Membership is required to rent an optional
vendor booth at the regular BCREI meetings. The rules regarding vendor booth
rental are defined in the BCREI Vendor Booth Agreement. In general, vendor
booth rental will be given priority to previous vendor booth renters. The
number of vendor booths is limited and prices will go up or down as needed to
fill the number of vendor booths. The initial price is $20/vendor
booth/month.
Business members may provide a “warm up” 15 Minute
Speech (before the main speaker / event) intended to inform and educate
BCREI members and in the process highlight the Business Member’s services/
products. The rules for this are defined in the BCREI “15 Minute Speaker”
Agreement. In general, Business Members providing 15 Minute Speeches agree
they will provide educational and interesting information and agree their
speech will not simply be a dry advertisement. The order of these speakers
from month-to-month (or even whether the subject will be allowed to be
presented) will be the decision of BCREI officers. Normally a Business Member
will not be allowed to present more than once per year, nor be allowed to
repeat until all other approved business members have also had their
opportunity to present.
